About ME

Hi there! I’m Dr. Denise (BSc, MD, CCFP, MPH, FRCPC, ACBOM). 

I’m a second generation Filipina-Canadian Public Health Physician with additional training in Family Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and Physiatry.  I am an Assistant Professor with the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba.

I am also a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, and life coach.

I am the Founder of MedResRx, which includes my hugely successful medical, therapy, and coaching practice, a Canadian physician support network for medical trainees, and a Canadian Physician and Medical Trainee Suicide Log.  I am extremely excited about the launch of The MedResRx Hypnotherapy App which came out of my inability to keep up with the growing wait list for my hypnotherapy/coaching and my drive to have a greater impact and spread the goodness.  Now you can get incredible results by accessing my hypnotherapy and motivational recordings and deep dive programs, anytime, anywhere.  Check out the App which is featuring my Founding Member Launch, Burnout Blaster Bootcamp, and numerous other recordings and resources.  

I am a writer.  

In 2022, I was honoured to receive both Canada's Most Powerful Women:  Top 100 Award (Canadian Tire Community Impact category) and Canadian Occupational Safety's Top Woman in Safety Award.  In 2023, I was honoured to receive the Foundation of Filipina Women's Network's Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World (Innovator and Thought Leader category) and make Ace Burpee's Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans of 2023 list.

I'd describe myself as a fighter.  I fight for the things I'm passionate about, a lot of this coming from my personal experiences as a Filipina/person of colour, woman, student/resident, physician, worker, whistleblower, and mom.  I help physicians, medical learners, and others beat burnout and overcome any barriers to living an extraordinary life.
